వివరణ · Explanation

నిన్నటి మాట భూతకాలంలో — వచ్చాను, వచ్చావు, వచ్చాడు, వచ్చింది, వచ్చాము, వచ్చారు, వచ్చాయి. నిషేధం ఒకటే — రాలేదు.

Everything about yesterday goes into the past, and the ending tells you who: నేను వచ్చాను, నువ్వు వచ్చావు, అతను వచ్చాడు, ఆమె వచ్చింది, మేము వచ్చాము, మీరు and వాళ్ళు వచ్చారు, and things — అవి వచ్చాయి. Notice again that the split between people and things only shows in the plural. The negative is the easy half: రాలేదు for every person, singular and plural alike.

రేపటి మాట — వస్తాను, వస్తావు, వస్తాడు, వస్తుంది, వస్తాము, వస్తారు, వస్తాయి. నిషేధం మారుతుంది — రాను, రావు, రాడు, రాదు, రాము, రారు.

For tomorrow, use the tenseless form, which also states what is simply true: రేపు నేను వస్తాను, ఆమె వస్తుంది, వాళ్ళు వస్తారు, అవి వస్తాయి. Here the negative does change for person, and it is one word, not two: నేను రాను, నువ్వు రావు, అతను రాడు, ఆమె రాదు, మేము రాము, మీరు రారు. Keep this apart from రాలేదు, which can only be about the past.

వరుస చెప్పే పదాలు — మొదట, తరువాత, చివరికి. సమయం చెప్పే పదాలు — త్వరగా, ఆలస్యంగా. ఇవి క్రియకు ముందు వస్తాయి.

Three words hold a report together: మొదట (first), తరువాత (after that) and చివరికి (in the end). Two more say how you did it in time — త్వరగా (early, quickly) and ఆలస్యంగా (late), which is the noun ఆలస్యం with the ending -గా. All of them stand before the verb, where every adverb in Telugu belongs.

మీరే చెప్పండి · Use it

నిన్నటి రోజు చెప్పండి — 'మొదట …, తరువాత …, చివరికి …'. ఒక పని చేయలేదు, అది కూడా చెప్పండి. తరువాత రేపటి రోజు చెప్పండి — 'రేపు నేను …'.

Tell yesterday in three sentences held together by మొదట, తరువాత and చివరికి, and add one thing you did not manage: నేను పాఠం చదవలేదు. Then plan tomorrow in three more, all in the tenseless form, and end with one thing you will refuse to do — నేను ఆలస్యంగా వెళ్ళను. Say the whole thing twice without stopping; that is level 4 in your own voice.
