వివరణ · Explanation

-లో — ఇది చోటు చెప్పే ప్రత్యయం. పెట్టెలో, సంచిలో, గదిలో, బడిలో, దుకాణంలో, గ్రంథాలయంలో, తరగతిలో.

-లో goes straight onto the noun with nothing in between and says where something is: పెట్టెలో (in the box), సంచిలో (in the bag), దుకాణంలో (in the shop). Keep it apart from the -కి you learnt for motion: బడికి వెళుతున్నాను is 'I am going to school', బడిలో చదువుతున్నాను is 'I study at school'. -కి points at a goal, -లో names the place where the action happens.

ఈ జతలు నేర్చుకోండి — ఇల్లు, ఇంట్లో. వంటిల్లు, వంటింట్లో. ఊరు, ఊళ్ళో.

A few nouns change shape before -లో, and the safest thing is to learn each as a fixed pair rather than to work it out: ఇల్లు gives ఇంట్లో, వంటిల్లు gives వంటింట్లో, ఊరు gives ఊళ్ళో. Everything else in this lesson simply adds -లో as it stands.

ప్రశ్న — 'ఎక్కడ ఉంది?' జవాబులో ఉంది, ఉన్నాయి, ఉన్నారు.

The question is ఎక్కడ ఉంది? and the answer carries the agreement you already know: one thing or one woman takes ఉంది, one man ఉన్నాడు, several things ఉన్నాయి, several people ఉన్నారు. So పుస్తకం సంచిలో ఉంది, but పుస్తకాలు సంచిలో ఉన్నాయి and పిల్లలు తరగతిలో ఉన్నారు.
