అమ్మ, నాన్న — ఇవి మామూలు మాటలు. తల్లి, తండ్రి — ఇవి మర్యాద మాటలు.
Every Telugu speaker has two words for each parent. అమ్మ and నాన్న are what you call them and what you say at home. తల్లి and తండ్రి are the formal, respectful words: you use them when you speak about someone's parents to a stranger, and they are what appear on a form, in a book or in a speech. Both are correct — they simply belong to different rooms of the language.
కొడుకు — అబ్బాయి. కూతురు — అమ్మాయి. పిల్లలు — అబ్బాయిలు, అమ్మాయిలు అందరూ.
A son is కొడుకు and a daughter is కూతురు, whatever their age — these words say 'child of', not 'small'. పిల్లలు covers all the children of a house together, boys and girls. Because children are people (మహత్తు), the verb takes the human plural ending: పిల్లలు ఆడుతున్నారు, never ఆడుతున్నాయి.
'ఇది మా కుటుంబం. మా తండ్రి పేరు రామారావు, మా తల్లి పేరు సరోజ.' — ఇలా పరిచయం చేయండి.
Here is the whole introduction in one shape you can reuse: name the group first (ఇది మా కుటుంబం), then take the people one at a time, oldest first, with మా X పేరు … . Add where each one is or what each one is doing, and remember the respectful plural for your elders: మా తల్లి వంట చేస్తున్నారు.

Stand up and introduce your family to an imaginary guest. Open with ఇది మా కుటుంబం, then give four lines: మా తండ్రి పేరు …, మా తల్లి పేరు …, and two more for the children of the house. Say what each person is doing right now, and keep the respectful plural for your elders. Do it once slowly, then once again at speaking speed.
