వివరణ · Explanation

ఉదయం లేస్తున్నాను. మధ్యాహ్నం పని చేస్తున్నాను. సాయంత్రం ఆడుతున్నాను. రాత్రి పడుకుంటున్నాను.

That is the whole of level 2 in one breath: four time words, four verbs, and no నేను at all. The ending -ను already says who is speaking, so Telugu leaves the pronoun out far more readily than English does — and a run of sentences like this one sounds better without it. Put నేను back in only when you want to point at yourself.

'రోజు' · 'వారం' · 'సెలవు'. 'రోజు అంతా' — 'రోజంతా'. 'వారం అంతా'.

రోజు is a day, వారం a week, సెలవు a holiday or a day off, and పని the work you do in between. అంతా means 'the whole of it' and follows the word it covers: రోజు అంతా, written together as రోజంతా, is 'all day long', and వారం అంతా is 'all week'. That is where this lesson gets its name.

'మనం కలిసి ఆడుతున్నాము.' 'కూర్చోండి.' 'చెప్పండి.' 'వినండి.'

కలిసి means 'together' and stands just before the verb: మనం కలిసి ఆడుతున్నాము. Remember that మనం takes in the person you are talking to, while మేము leaves them out. And the courtesy forms from earlier in this level are still the politest thing you can say: కూర్చోండి (please sit), చెప్పండి (please tell me), వినండి (please listen). Use them with anyone you address as మీరు.

'మనం' — ఎవరు? Whom does మనం include?
సెలవు ________ నేను ఇక్కడ ఉన్నాను. On my day off I am here.
మనం ________ ఆడుతున్నాము. We are playing together.
వాక్యం — 'At midday I work.' Arrange the words.

మీరే చెప్పండి · Use it

ఇప్పుడు మీరే చెప్పండి — 'ఉదయం నేను లేస్తున్నాను. మధ్యాహ్నం నేను పని చేస్తున్నాను. సాయంత్రం నేను ఆడుతున్నాను. రాత్రి నేను భోజనం చేస్తున్నాను.'

Tell your whole day aloud, one sentence for each part of it, using the verbs you really need — తింటున్నాను, చదువుతున్నాను, వండుతున్నాను, కొంటున్నాను, ఉతుకుతున్నాను. Say it once with నేను and once without. Then tell a friend's day the same way, changing only the ending to -డు: ఉదయం లేస్తున్నాడు, మధ్యాహ్నం పని చేస్తున్నాడు. Finish with the question you now own: సెలవు ఎప్పుడు?
