వివరణ · Explanation

కూర్చొను — నేను కూర్చుంటున్నాను, అతను కూర్చుంటున్నాడు. నిలబడు — నేను నిలబడుతున్నాను. నడుచు — నేను నడుస్తున్నాను. పరుగెత్తు — అతను పరుగెత్తుతున్నాడు. ఆడు — వాళ్ళు ఆడుతున్నారు.

Five everyday verbs of the body, all in the same -తున్న- present you already know. Watch the stems: కూర్చొను gives కూర్చుంటున్నాను, నడుచు gives నడుస్తున్నాను, and పరుగెత్తు simply adds its ending — పరుగెత్తుతున్నాడు. Learn each stem with its first-person form and the rest follows.

కూర్చోండి! నిలబడండి! నడవండి! ఆడండి! — ఇవి మర్యాద మాటలు. మీరు — ఈ రూపం.

Now the form you will hear from every host in Andhra and Telangana: కూర్చోండి, 'please sit'. The ending -ండి is the polite one, and it goes with మీరు. Take these as whole courtesy phrases for now — కూర్చోండి, నిలబడండి, నడవండి, ఆడండి — and add -ండి to each new verb as you meet it. The full pattern behind them comes much later.

వాళ్ళు బయట ఆడుతున్నారు. అతను ఇక్కడ నిలబడుతున్నాడు.

Notice again where the words sit. The place word (బయట, ఇక్కడ) comes in the middle and the verb closes the sentence, exactly as in level 1. Nothing in Telugu moves to the front for emphasis at this stage — keep the verb last and you will be understood.

Do it as you say it: stand up and say నేను నిలబడుతున్నాను, walk two steps and say నేను నడుస్తున్నాను, sit and say నేను కూర్చుంటున్నాను. Then play the host — point at a chair and say ఇక్కడ కుర్చీ ఉంది. కూర్చోండి! Say it warmly, the way Sīta says it to Ravi.
