వివరణ · Explanation

వచ్చు — నేను వస్తున్నాను, మీరు వస్తున్నారు, అతను వస్తున్నాడు. వెళ్ళు — నేను వెళుతున్నాను, మీరు వెళుతున్నారు, అతను వెళుతున్నాడు.

Two verbs you will use every day. వచ్చు 'come' makes వస్తున్నాను / వస్తున్నారు / వస్తున్నాడు, and వెళ్ళు 'go' makes వెళుతున్నాను / వెళుతున్నారు / వెళుతున్నాడు. The endings are the same -తున్న- present you met with లేచు and చేయు; only the stem in front of it changes.

మీరు ఎక్కడ ఉన్నారు? — నేను వస్తున్నాను.

Telugu chooses between the two exactly as English does, by where the listener stands. Moving toward the person you are speaking to is వస్తున్నాను — 'I'm coming'. Moving away from them is వెళుతున్నాను — 'I'm going'. When a friend phones and you are on your way to meet them, the answer is always వస్తున్నాను.

బయట, లోపల — ఇవి చోటు మాటలు. క్రియ చివర ఉంటుంది.

బయట (outside) and లోపల (inside) are place words. Like every other piece of a Telugu sentence, they come before the verb, never after it: నేను బయట ఉన్నాను, మీరు లోపల ఉన్నారు. The verb keeps the last seat in the sentence, and everything else lines up in front of it.

Then imagine a friend has called you and answer them twice, once as the one arriving (నేను ఇప్పుడు వస్తున్నాను) and once as the one leaving (నేను ఇప్పుడు వెళుతున్నాను).
