వివరణ · Explanation

చదువు + తున్న + ను = చదువుతున్నాను. మాట మారలేదు — 'తున్న' మాత్రమే చేరింది.

చదువు 'read, study' is the easy kind of stem: nothing about it changes. You simply hang -తున్న- and the person ending on the end of the word as it stands — చదువుతున్నాను, చదువుతున్నావు, చదువుతున్నాడు, చదువుతున్నాము, చదువుతున్నారు. Telugu uses this one verb both for reading a page and for studying a subject.

రాయు — ఇక్కడ మాట మారుతుంది: రాస్తున్నాను, రాస్తున్నాడు, రాస్తున్నారు.

రాయు 'write' does not behave so quietly: the stem shortens before the ending, giving రాస్తున్నాను and not the రాయుతున్నాను you might expect. Learn the pair చదువుతున్నాను / రాస్తున్నాను side by side and you have both types at once. నేర్చుకొను 'learn' follows పడుకొను from the last lesson: నేర్చుకుంటున్నాను, నేర్చుకుంటున్నాడు.

'ప్రతిరోజూ' అంటే రోజూ. 'నేను ప్రతిరోజూ చదువుతున్నాను.'

ప్రతిరోజూ means 'every day', and it stands with the other time words in front of the verb. Put it with this same present tense and the sentence stops describing this minute and starts describing your habit: నేను ప్రతిరోజూ చదువుతున్నాను is 'I study every day', not 'I am reading right now'. The time word does all the work, so the verb itself never changes shape.
