వివరణ · Explanation

'భాష' — language. ప్రశ్న: 'మీ భాష ఏది?' జవాబు: 'నా భాష తెలుగు.'

A language name is an ordinary noun in Telugu — తెలుగు, ఇంగ్లీష్, హిందీ — with no article and no extra marking around it. The question takes ఏది and not ఏమిటి, for exactly the reason you met in the last lesson: the world is full of languages and you are asking your listener to pick one out of them. And as always in a sentence of this kind, no word stands for 'is'.

నా భాష · నీ భాష · మీ భాష. సొంత రూపం మొదట, పేరు తరువాత.

You now hold all three possessives — నా my, నీ your (to a friend), మీ your (respectful). Each one stands in front of its noun and never changes shape for it: నా పేరు, నా ఊరు, నా ఇల్లు, నా భాష. That single habit means every new noun you learn arrives with a whole family of sentences already attached to it.

'కొంచెం' — a little. 'తెలుగు కొంచెం.' 'కొంచెం తెలుగు.' రెండూ సరే.

కొంచెం means 'a little', and it is the most useful word a beginner owns. It stands either in front of the noun (కొంచెం తెలుగు) or after it as a complete answer of its own (తెలుగు కొంచెం). Telugu speakers reach for it to make any claim modest, and this is the honest thing to say about your own Telugu for a good while yet.

మీరే చెప్పండి · Use it

ఇప్పుడు మీరే చెప్పండి — 'నా భాష …. తెలుగు కొంచెం.' తరువాత ప్రశ్న — 'మీ భాష ఏది?'

Say your own language out loud: నా భాష …. Then add the honest second half that every learner needs — తెలుగు కొంచెం — and ask the question back with మీ భాష ఏది?. Finally run the whole level so far together in one breath: నమస్కారం! నా పేరు …, నా ఊరు …, నా భాష …. Six lessons in, that is a real self-introduction.
