వివరణ · Explanation

'నమస్కారం' — ఇది తెలుగు పలకరింపు. ఉదయం, సాయంత్రం — ఎప్పుడైనా ఇదే మాట.

నమస్కారం is the everyday Telugu greeting, and it never changes with the hour of the day. You say it when you arrive and again when you leave, to a stranger and to your own family alike. The reply is simply నమస్కారం back — nothing more is expected of you.

'నా పేరు రవి.' — ఇది పూర్తి వాక్యం. 'నా పేరు' మొదట, పేరు చివర — అంతే.

Two pieces make a whole sentence: నా పేరు ('my name') and then the name itself. Telugu puts nothing between them, because it has no word for 'is' in a sentence of this kind. So నా పేరు రవి already means 'my name is Ravi'. You will meet this again in every lesson of this level — an equational sentence in Telugu simply has no verb.

'మీ పేరు ఏమిటి?' — ఇది ప్రశ్న. 'ఏమిటి' వాక్యం చివర. 'మీ' — మర్యాద రూపం.

ఏమిటి means 'what?'. Notice where it stands: exactly in the slot the answer will fill. మీ పేరు ఏమిటి? is word for word 'your name what?', and నా పేరు రవి answers it by swapping ఏమిటి for రవి. Nothing is moved to the front the way English moves 'what'. మీ is the respectful 'your' — use it with anyone you have just met, with elders, and with a group.

మీరే చెప్పండి · Use it

ఇప్పుడు మీరే బిగ్గరగా చెప్పండి — 'నమస్కారం! నా పేరు …'. తరువాత ప్రశ్న — 'మీ పేరు ఏమిటి?'

Say it out loud with your own name in the gap: నమస్కారం! నా పేరు …. Then ask the question back — మీ పేరు ఏమిటి? — and answer it as if you were the other person. Run the whole six-line exchange three or four times until the greeting, your name and the question come out without a pause. That is already a complete first conversation.
